  • Face paints: (Normal water activated paint. If you weren’t told otherwise, this is what was used.)

-Washes with soap and water.  Use a wash cloth. Rub Gently and Always use skin/face safe soap.  Ideally something you know your child is not reactive to.)

-(Avoid baby wipes if possible. They often set in the color and the chemicals they contain may cause reactions with the paint ans delicate facial skin.)
-use a soapy wet wash cloth (gently wrung to avoid dripping) to Gently work soap and paint into a “mud” that lifts the paint from the skin.

Wipe from face.  I like doing this in sections.

-No aggressive rubbing or scrubbing is necessary!

-If water is added first it can set the color into the skin.

-If the mud dries before being wiped it will need to be reactivated again to lift the paint.

-If any color lingers try:

  1. Using a scented soap (skin safe!)

  2. rubbing in oils letting them set overnight and washing in the morning,

  3. use a microfiber cloth,

  4. use makeup remover

  • Hybrid airbrush paint:(Water resistant, colorful for face and body)

-Washes off with soap, water and a little extra rubbing with a wash cloth
-If color lingers or isn’t washing easily try:

  3. use a microfiber cloth,

  4. use waterproof makeup remover,

  5. use rubbing alcohol (not on faces)

  6. or simply let the paint wear off on its own

  • Airbrush tattoo ink: (Alcohol based ink, generally black, body only)

-Remove with rubbing alcohol or stage makeup remover (isopropyl myristate)

  • Festival Glitter: (gel or balm based)

-Start by gently scraping what you can into a garbage using a business or credit card. Be gentle.
-Soap and water will remove the rest easily
-If you are on city septic, most treatment plants will strain and incinerate particles as small as glitter so no need to stress about the mini plastics. If you have your own septic field you may want to wipe clean with a paper towel and dispose in the trash.

  3. rubbing alcohol.

  • Body Color Cosmetics (Silicone waterproof paint)
